We would like to congratulate the 2016 recipient of the prestigious Oxbridge Chairing Award Mr. George Mullens.

Here is a message from George on receiving his award.

‘Dear Delegates,

My name is George Mullens, I’m a British and Italian Masters student from SOAS, University of London reading International Studies and Diplomacy. I’ve been participating in Model United Nations since the age of 15 as a delegate, chair and secretariat member. In total I’ve chaired at 23 conferences to date and I particularly had the pleasure to act as Head Chair of DISEC at both OxIMUN 2016 and CUIMUN 2016 for which I won the Oxbridge Award.

I remember sitting waiting hectically during the closing ceremony of OxIMUN, thinking about the possibility of winning the Oxbridge Award. When the Secretary-General announced my name it quite literally blew my mind! Winning the Oxbridge Award for chairing was an absolute honour and showed that my style of chairing encourages delegates in guiding them towards the world’s most difficult issues.’
